This Saturday we commemorate Anzac Day.
We mark the anniversary of the first major military action by Australian and New Zealand soldiers in WWI on April 25, 1915; and remember all who serve or have served, and those who have died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Please see below for some ways to commemorate Anzac Day from home. God of love and liberty, We give thanks this day for the peace and security we enjoy, won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war. We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, and that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come. May the liberty, truth and justice which they sought to preserve be seen and known in all the nations upon earth. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |
