Funerals
A Christian funeral is the gathering of the family, friends and community of the deceased to say farewell to the person who has died and entrust that person to God’s loving care.
It is a time of great sadness at the loss of a loved one but can bring peace in the knowledge that they have gone to meet their creator. Our job is to help you prepare a beautiful and fitting funeral liturgy for your loved one. After your loved one has passed away, the first step is to contact the funeral director. They will then contact the Parish to begin making arrangements for the funeral. |
Once a date and time has been confirmed, the family should contact the parish office to arrange to meet with the priest to discuss the details of the service. A funeral can either be a Requiem Mass or a prayer service depending on the family's wishes and the priest can assist you in making this choice.
Planning the service involves many decisions. The Parish Office will be able to help you with all aspects of the service including choice of readings, hymns, musicians, flowers for the church and booklets.
Please contact the Parish Office if you have any questions.
