"They are no longer two, therefore,
but one body. So then, what God has united, man must not divide." Matthew 19:6 |
MarriageMarriage, in its Christian meaning, is properly understood as a vocation, a calling by God to enter into a way of love by which the two people wholly commit themselves to each other. This love in turn opens itself out to the gift of children and the formation of the family.
When you get married in a Catholic church you have the option of a ‘Wedding Ceremony’ or a ‘Nuptial Mass’. A Wedding Ceremony celebrates the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of Marriage, which encompasses the exchanging of vows and rings followed by a nuptial blessing. A full Nuptial Mass includes the above celebrations and also includes the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Couples inquiring about a wedding at St Thomas the Apostle should contact the parish office to make an appointment with the parish priest. Please note, Marriages require a six month notice period to allow time to lodge the necessary paperwork and complete a pre-marriage course. |
