Sacramental Program

St Thomas the Apostle Sacramental Program follows the Sacramental Policy issued by the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

In summary;

In the year the children turn eight (Year 3), they are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
In the year the children turn nine (Year 4), they are welcomed to the Lord’s Table and receive Holy Communion for the first time.
When the children turn ten, they are prepared to celebrate more fully the Sacrament of Penance with individual confession and absolution (1st rite).

2025 Sacramental Program - Important Dates

FIRST RECONCILIATION
Enrolment/Commitment and Session 1 – 15/16 Feb
Saturday Session is at 4.15pm to 5.15pm then 5.30pm Mass.
Sunday Session - 8.30am Mass then session starts at 9.30am to 10.30am.

Session 2 – 22/23 Feb
Session 3 – 1/2 March
Session 4 – 8/9 March
Actual Celebration: Sat 15th March at 3.30pm

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION
Enrolment/Commitment and Session 1 – 24/25 May
Session 2 – 31 May & 1 June
Session 3 – 7/8 June
Session 4 – 14/15 June
Rehearsal
Actual Celebrations: Saturday 21 June at 5.30pm Mass & Sunday 22 June at 8.30am Mass - Solemnity of the Body & Blood of Christ(Corpus Christi)

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
Parents Information Session – Wednesday 6 August @ 6.30pm
Enrolment/Commitment and Session 1 – 9/10 August
Saturday Session is at 4.15pm to 5.15pm then 5.30pm Mass.

Session 2 – 16/17 August

Rehearsal: Tuesday 9th Sept during school hours for St Thomas’ children.
Actual Celebration: Wednesday 10 September at 5.30pm.
