ABOUT PALM SUNDAY
Palm Sunday is the final Sunday of Lent, the beginning of Holy Week, and celebrates Christ’s triumphant arrival in Jerusalem, days before he was crucified. Palm branches are widely recognised as a symbol of peace and victory, hence their preferred use on Palm Sunday. During Palm Sunday Mass, the palms are blessed and are then used to create the ashes for the following year's Ash Wednesday observance. The liturgical colour of Palm Sunday is red, symbolising the blood of Jesus' sacrifice at his Passion |
